"Hands Clasped"

"Hands Clasped" - Powder coated steel rods, 4mx6m

"Hands Clasped" is a steel sculpture installed on the outside face of the International School of Geneva, Campus des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

Two monumental hands, sketched through the air in minimal lines of steel, join together in a humanist image of connection beyond borders, gender, race, or other distinction. Inspired by the ethos of the United Nations located blocks away, as well as by the incredibly diverse student body of the school, "Hands Clasped" is meant to serve as a symbol of unity.

I worked during the spring of 2024 with a team of 20 dedicated students from the school who helped shape the steel components as well as explore grinding, cutting, welding, and other basic metalwork.
